Wall grazing is the term applied to the technique of enhancing the textures of the illuminated surface. When designed properly, the light ‘skims’ or ‘grazes’ the focus area revealing the subtle textures and bringing out the beauty of materials such as stone, wood, mosaic work, fabrics and etched glass etc.
The narrow beam angle (20 degree) offered by the innovative Carclo wall grazer is perfect for highlighting these attractive qualities.
The new Wall Washer and Wall Grazer from Carclo Optics, have been created using an innovative Tri-Extrusion method in which 3 materials are simultaneously extruded resulting in a single optic.
The TIR strip optic, is made from clear, UV stabilised polycarbonate with a co-extruded diffusion layer giving a smooth light distribution free of artefacts with minimised CoA (colour over angle). There are 2 TPE flexible sealing strips flanking the optic and, as with the other two materials included in the extrusion, these are also UV resistant.
The aluminium outer housing is anodised to 25 microns and meets Standard ISO7599:2018.
The Wall Washer and Wall Grazer are both have an IP65 rating. Simply add your own PCB, vent and screws and the fixture will be ready for use.
